DINAS POWYS Conservative Cllrs Vince Driscoll, Andy Robertson, Steve Griffiths and Rob Crowley have paid tribute to the “inspirational” number of residents who have put themselves out to help the community in recent months.
With many vulnerable residents shielding, neighbours have looked out for one another and assisted those in need.
Your councillors helped out by delivering supplies to residents who were self isolating, as well as food waste and recycling bags to those who had run out.
Due to social distancing rules, they had to suspend their regular newsletter, and launched an email newsletter in its place.
They also kept residents updated via social media, including on the “Dinas Powys By Pass and Local Issues” page.
While their traditional newsletter has now resumed, they plan to keep these going following their initial success.
Cllr Vince Driscoll said, “The past few months have been especially challenging for us all, but the community spirit on display has been truly heart warming. I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who has helped out. It is inspirational and shows the best of our community.”
Cllr Steve Griffiths added, “Following its initial success, we are going to continue our e-newsletter long term.Drop me an email to sign up and I’ll add you to the mailing list.”
