Back in May 2019 I was elected as the Conservative group leader on the Vale Council.
My plan was simple: to lead the Council and deliver local people’s priorities. Councillors must never lose touch with the residents we are there to serve, and rather than take the easy option we must always work to improve things for local people.
Unfortunately, a group of former Conservative councillors preferred the old way of doing things. As “Vale Independents”, they now prop up a Labour administration committed to more of the same, rather than delivering better services for better value for money.
But my plan has not changed.
I am doubling down on my priorities of stopping inflation-busting council tax rises; scrapping proposed parking charges, preventing the loss of our green spaces and opposing the Barry Incinerator.
At the next council elections residents will have the power to vote to make my plan a reality. Together, we will unleash the Vale’s potential.
