Matt Smith was born and bred in Cardiff where his family has always lived. Several generations of his family have lived and worked in Cardiff . His Dad was a factory worker his entire working life. His mother works at Cardiff University and is a voluntary Unison Auditor.

Alun Cairns was first elected as the Member of Parliament for the Vale of Glamorgan in May 2010. He lives in the constituency with his wife Emma, who runs her own small business, and with their son Henri, who attends the local Welsh primary school. His father was a welder in British Steel and his mother was a shop-keeper.

Andrew RT Davies was born in 1968 and was educated at St John’s, Balfour House and Wycliffe College. He is married to Julia and they have four children.Andrew’s background is in the business community – as a partner in the family farming business, based near Cowbridge in the Vale of Glamorgan.He is a former Vice President of Llantrisant Young Farmers Club and Chairman of Creative Communities, an organisation which seeks to develop structural community development.
