Wenvoe Conservatives have asked local residents to join their campaign to save two polling stations covering the area.
Under plans announced by the Vale of Glamorgan Council, the long established polling stations at Brooklands Terrace and the Horse and Jockey pub will be scrapped.
Instead, residents will have to use the polling station at Wenvoe Community Centre.
Local Conservative campaigner Russell Godfrey believes the decision will make it harder for people to go and vote, and he has raised objections with the Council.
Several residents of Wenvoe village have also expressed concerns, with parking already limited at the community centre.
They fear that the increase in electors using the polling station, most of whom will have to drive there, will make the situation worse.
Russell said, “The right to vote is a precious one in our democracy, and we should be making it easier not harder to do so. Doing away with the polling stations is a bad move and will cause huge problems for residents who do not have access to a car. The large increase in cars descending on the polling station at Wenvoe Community Centre will also cause many safety problems.
